Powersoft’s Mezzo, Duecanali and Quattrocanali amplifiers, complemented by its new Verso gateway device and monitored via MyUniverso cloud platform, are at the heart of a sound system delivering high-quality, multi-zone audio for both background music and live sound at Bellandur SOCIAL in Bangalore, India, which offers a new entertainment experience for Bangaloreans seeking a unique escape within the city.
Housed within an oval-shaped glass dome, Bellandur SOCIAL is a hub for entertainment where patrons can enjoy fine dining under a canopy of natural light during the day and a high-energy nightclub at night. The 54th SOCIAL establishment by Impresario Hospitality, headed by Riyaaz Amlani, Bellandur SOCIAL is inspired by nature and aims to create the feeling of a “garden city” within its walls.
Designed to accommodate 1,500 patrons across three floors, Bellandur SOCIAL needed high-quality, powerful audio across multiple zones, including a DJ area at front of house, a VIP section and outdoor balconies. Each area required a sound system that would ensure crystal-clear audio for both daytime and nighttime events. The system also needed to be capable of meeting the technical rider standards from artists around the globe the venue is designed to host.
Tasked with this challenge was Utkarsh Naidu, Techflow consultant at Munro Acoustics, who chose the Powersoft amplifiers due to their advanced DSP features, high-impact performance and compact footprints, as their Dynamic Music Distribution capabilities, which enables the easy routing of audio across multiple zones “Powersoft was the ideal choice for this installation; the amplifiers’ versatility and high-performance capabilities perfectly matched the project’s diverse requirements, from space constraints to acoustic consistency,” he explains.
According to Naidu, the restaurant’s oval-shaped glass dome posed a significant acoustic challenge. “It was crucial to ensure consistent sound quality and distribution throughout the space, and Powersoft played a key role in maintaining clear audio across all zones, catering to both dining and nightlife settings,” he added.
For Munro Acoustics, the Powersoft amplifiers’ onboard digital signal processing made them an ideal choice for Bellandur SOCIAL, where space is limited, Naidu continues: “Powersoft eliminated the need for extra equipment for an external DSP, reducing rack space requirements and significantly cutting down on power loads and heat dissipation.”
For the installation at Bellandur SOCIAL, four Quattrocanali 1204 DSP+D, two Quattrocanali 4804 DSP+D, one Duecanali 4804 DSP+D, one Duecanali 804 DSP+D and four Mezzo 604 AD amplifier platforms and three WM Touch touchscreens were controlled remotely by Verso, a compact half-RU device that serves as the pivotal link between Powersoft’s amplifiers and its MyUniverso cloud platform. For this venue, MyUniverso enables remote monitoring to ensure the audio system is performing consistently with minimal downtime.
The amplifiers were paired with 20 DAS Audio ARTEC-306 and five ACTION-508 loudspeakers, two Q-10 and nine ARTEC-S15 subwoofers, as well as four RCF NXL-44-44-4 loudspeakers and two RCF 8008 subwoofers. The integrator used one Dante AVIO 2 two-channel input adapter for streamlined audio routing, while Netgear GSM4230P and GSM4210PD AV line switches ensured reliable network connectivity across the system.
Powersoft’s amplifiers and the Verso device are installed out of sight in an equipment rack in the venue’s basement. “This was the designated location for all backend equipment, which is why we decided to use a Dante workflow, considering the DJ location was about 65 metres away,” explains Naidu. The audio sources were distributed and controlled across all zones using Powersoft’s Dynamic Music Distribution solution.
According to Naidu, by integrating Powersoft amplifiers, Munro Acoustics has helped futureproof the venue by enabling the audio system to be upgraded easily in future: “The modularity of Powersoft means expansion and upgrades can be easily managed as the venue evolves or new technology becomes available. Whether it’s adding more zones, integrating newer audio technologies or scaling the system to accommodate larger events, the infrastructure is already in place for seamless adaptation. The client can look forward to many years of top-notch audio performance with minimal disruption.”
Powersoft’s Verso gateway also played a crucial role in the installation, particularly in remote monitoring and management. “The remote management capability streamlined our operations, saving time and reducing the need for on-site visits. For the end user, Verso made accessing and adjusting parameters a breeze,” says Naidu. Staff can easily control the audio settings whether they are in the main dining area, the DJ booth or any other part of the venue. “This accessibility ensures that the sound system remains adaptable to the venue’s needs, seamlessly transitioning from daytime dining to nighttime events,” he adds.
Powersoft’s amplifiers and Verso proved to be the ideal solution for Bellandur SOCIAL’s acoustic environment and has made a significant impact on customer satisfaction and the overall dining experience.
