FOL Sound, Light and Vision installs Pioneer PRO AUDIO CM-Series system for restaurant in refurbished heritage setting.
Housed in a magnificent former bank building, the renowned Belga Queen restaurant in central Brussels is now under new management, and recently underwent a complete renovation. Employing a team of forty-five staff, the restaurant prepares refined Belgian cuisine with an emphasis on the classics, reimagined in a contemporary way. The venue’s Grand Hall, Seafood Bar, and Cocktail bar complement each other to offer a range of customer experiences, whilst the cellar Vault, the bank’s former strong-room is available for private events.
An important part of the Belga Queen’s renovation was the provision of a new audio system. The new management was keen to match its investment in the refurbishment with an audio solution befitting of the venue’s high-end values, and engaged experienced AV specialists FOL Sound, Light and Vision to design and supply a system.
Iwan Fol of FOL Sound, Light and Vision recommended a system based on the CM-Series, Pioneer PRO AUDIO range of commercial loudspeakers. FOL has successfully deployed the CM-Series on many occasions, taking advantage of the range’s warm, high quality sound and sleek design, to discreetly enhance the atmosphere of a number of high-end hospitality venues. The brief was to provide clear, high-quality audio throughout the ground floor, first floor and basement areas of the beautifully renovated interior of this 18th century building.
The loudspeakers were selected from the Pioneer PRO AUDIO CM-Series commercial audio range. CM-Series draws on the brand’s rich heritage of making dynamic club speakers to provide aesthetically pleasing, space saving systems that deliver outstanding audio in any venue no matter its layout. The range has quickly established itself as a go-to for a wide variety of international hospitality and retail spaces.
In the main ground floor area, FOL installed 42 by CM-C56T 6.5” ceiling speakers in and 20 x CM-S56T 6” surface mount speakers in white, supported by 5 x CM-510ST-K 10” subwoofers. On the first floor 11 by CM-S54T 4” surface mount speakers in white. In the basement vault, FOL supplied three Pioneer PRO AUDIO XY-115S (15” reflex bass subwoofers from the manufacturer’s professional range) to reinforce the low end of an existing third party setup for use in private functions where DJ sets would feature. The solution was powered by Powersoft amplification throughout.
