Theatre Projects is excited to introduce their new general manager, Daniel Ordower. As a lawyer, theatre lighting designer, COO, and CFO, it’s hard to imagine anyone better suited for the position.
“We’re thrilled to have Daniel on board as part of our team. His knowledge of the arts, design, law, management, and finance will help Theatre Projects achieve our goals. But more importantly, he brings a creative energy that will challenge us to push the limits of how we approach everything we do,” said David H. Rosenburg, Managing Principal.
Daniel joins Theatre Projects from the groundbreaking dance troupe Pilobolus, where as general manager and CFO, he helped reorganise and streamline their practices, creating a more economic and effective structure. He was also the COO/CFO for Guild—a nationwide experiential marketing agency—where he helped the company expand, opening several offices across the country and growing its work force by hundreds of employees.
Speaking about his new position, Daniel said: “I’ve worked in many of Theatre Projects’ performing arts spaces during my career, so I’ve long been exposed to their work directly as a user. When I saw the job posting, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to be part of and to help grow an organisation whose mission it is to improve experiences of art, culture, and community.”
As the owner of his own theatrical lighting and technical management company, Daniel designed the lighting and managed multidisciplinary teams for more than 250 opera, regional, off-Broadway, and architectural productions. Upon admittance to the bar, he established a boutique legal practice specialising in providing legal services for members of the arts and entertainment industries.
Daniel will help guide Theatre Projects’ organisational planning, structure, and finances, and work to strengthen and diversify their brand.
“I’m grateful to the partners for providing me with this wonderful opportunity to join Theatre Projects at such an exciting time for this storied organisation and the industry. I look forward to working with the whole team to strengthen our brand and position Theatre Projects for strategic expansion in an evolving marketplace,” said Daniel.
With his experience guiding acclaimed arts organisations and multi-million-dollar companies into more streamlined, productive, and lucrative ventures, Daniel is the perfect person to help lead Theatre Projects into the future.
