First Impression audiovisual achieves B Corp certification

First Impression audiovisual, specialist in audiovisual brand experiences, has become B Corp, joining the global B Corp community of over 9,000 organizations. This certification is awarded to companies that follow high standards of social and sustainable business practices and are committed to continuous improvement in these areas.

B Lab, the global organisation behind the B Corp certification, rigorously assesses companies across five impact areas: employees, community, customers, environment, and governance. To be certified, companies must score at least 80 out of a possible 200 points and formally document how their decisions affect all stakeholders. The B Corp certification is not a one-time achievement; companies are re-evaluated every three years to ensure they continue to meet increasingly stringent standards for recertification.

First Impression met B Lab’s strict requirements with a score of 87.8 points, officially earning B Corp status. This accomplishment places the digital signage expert alongside an ambitious group of brands that have previously received the certification, including its own clients like Rituals, Fabienne Chapot, Tony’s Chocolonely, and Keune.

In addition to a strong focus on work culture and customer satisfaction, sustainability has been a primary goal for First Impression. The development of its Network Operations Center (NOC) and customized Smart Services were significant steps in further optimizing sustainability. Through these solutions, First Impression aims to resolve at least 80% of service issues remotely. The digital signage specialist is also working closely with hardware partners to achieve a fully circular model by 2030.

For First Impression, the B Corp certification is a milestone rather than an end goal. The company intends to use this recognition to inspire and motivate customers, suppliers, and other businesses to make a positive impact. First Impression particularly stands out in the areas of employee relations, governance, and environmental responsibility.

The company remains committed to continuous improvement, working to increase its certification score by enhancing its Impact Business Model, which prioritizes positive stakeholder impact. First Impression seeks to maximize impact with a minimal footprint. By linking collected data to the lifecycle of its installations, First Impression demonstrates a truly distinctive approach.

Ron Haans, CEO and Founder of First Impression, commented: “We’re not an obvious industry to champion sustainability, but perhaps that’s why we’re so motivated to elevate ourselves and others in our field. Achieving this certification is just the beginning. We hope to inspire our stakeholders and competitors to also strive for the best. We can achieve this through even stronger collaboration.”

Haans added: “An important step we took was to update our company bylaws. We’ve now formally committed to operating our business in ways that always consider both people and the environment.”
