MSolutions has refreshed its range of extenders with a new USB extender kit that expands bandwidth capabilities for users inside meeting spaces, classrooms, and similar AV environments.
Available immediately, the new MS6U41A USB Extender Kit addresses emergent requirements for USB transmission. It is among the first to extend both a USB-C data source and four USB 3.0-compatible devices, including PTZ cameras, over distances up to 330 feet (100 meters) through a single network category cable.
The MS6U41A adds value through bi-directional audio and additional data transmission capabilities. Its bi-directional analog audio channel can pass two audio channels between the transmitter and receiver in either direction, while RS-232 serial pass-through and bi-directional Power over Cable features, Both support USB peripheral extension and remote connectivity for USB-based video conferencing systems. This makes the MS6U41A an ideal all-in-one solution wherever USB transmission is useful, most notable in corporate and education environments.
Broad bandwidth capabilities ensure consistency and integrity for uncompressed audio and data signal extension. “Bandwidth has historically been a challenge when extending signals from a USB port over long distances, as the frame rate decreases to between nine to 11 frames per second,” said Ariel Marcus, CTO, MSolutions. “The MS6U41A’s onboard dedicated controller manages the USB-C data source, enabling transmission from videoconferencing cameras at between 30 to 35 frames per second. This improves the video quality coming from the camera, producing a sharper, higher resolution image.”
In addition to cameras, the MS6U41A’s USB 3.0 compatible extension capability support touchscreens, smartboards, hard drives, gaming controllers, USB audio devices, printers, scanners and HIDs (Human Interface Devices). Its four channels USB 2.0 channels offer USB 3.0 compatibility for KVM connectivity of multiple USB devices across the link. The all-in-one value proposition is strengthened through a plug-and-play deployment that requires no external software or drivers.
MSolutions CEO Eliran Toren adds that the company’s expertise in AV signal testing offers a unique understanding of how to address common signal extension problems in the product’s design.
“Our vast background and history in the development and use of AV testing devices means we have the knowledge to build reliable signal extension products that meet the requirements of today’s AV installers and end users,” said Eliran. “This knowledge provides our customers with unique advantages that include reliable USB-C support along with consistent overall performance.”
