Nature Manifesto

Creating an auditory landscape of a post-mass-extinction environment, this art installation combines the natural noises of animal calls with advanced audio technology, utilising both software and hardware from d&b Soundscape, d&b audiotechnik, and IRCAM.

“The apocalypse has already happened, and how we will act now is essential,” reads Björk’s voice, broadcast over a d&b audiotechnik sound system installed by Southby Productions at Paris’ Centre Pompidou. 

Though this line sounds wholly cynical, ‘Nature Manifesto’, created in collaboration by Icelandic artist Björk and French techno-activist Aleph, paints a nuanced picture of biodiversity loss, where using advanced audio software, we are encouraged to consider our role in preserving the environment through the calls of extinct animals.
